Named South Carolina's "Golf Course of the Year" for 2003 after a $3-million renovation by Jones protégé Roger Rulewich, the Robert Trent Jones Oceanfront Course still follows the RTJ mantra of "hard par, easy bogey" with its wide fairways, expansive greens and subtle elevation changes, but now those greens have been completely resurfaced, with a new lake and bunkers reshaped and restored to Jones' original design.

The most wide-open of the three Palmetto Dunes courses, it is also the most affected by the sea breezes, making every hole play differently every time the winds change. All of the Palmetto Dunes courses now feature personal Segway golf transporters and Coolwell air-conditioned carts to add a little flavor, and comfort to your unique golf experience at the Robert Trent Jones Oceanfront Course at Palmetto Dunes. It is also one of the first courses on the island to offer "short course" tees specifically designed for Juniors. RTJ's Pro Shop merchandise operation recently won 2006 top honors from the Carolinas PGA Section.
