Over the July 4th holiday weekend, Tiger Woods won the AT&T National, his own tournament. This is the second year of Tiger’s AT&T National and his first win. He had earlier in the week said that he wanted to be a “greedy host,” and in the final hour of the tournament, Tiger rolled in a 20-foot birdie to win the cup.

Interestingly enough, Tiger has won all three PGA Tour events this year hosted by players. Earlier in year, Woods won the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Memorial, hosted by Jack Nicklaus.

The other interesting fact about these tournaments is that all three of his victories came in his final start before a major. This year Tiger finished four shots behind in the Masters tournament and the U.S. Open tournament. His next tournament is the British Open at Turnberry, a course he has never seen, according to ESPN.com.

And congratulations are due to Tiger, as this win, the 68th victory of his PGA Tour career, moved him to the top of the money list and FedEx Cup standings for the first time this year.

How will Woods do at the British Open?
